Mission:
It is my mission to go beyond traditional educational consulting and advocacy in order to work together with my clients and their school teams to bring about more equitable, effective, and engaging learning environments that will consistently meet the individual needs of all types of learners. I strongly believe in a strengths-based approach to education that focuses on identifying and leveraging students' existing skills and positive attributes to enhance their learning and development. In my experience, this type of work may require fundamentally altering how education is approached and delivered, involving shifts in mindset, structures, and practices. I take on only a handful of clients at one time so that I can devote the appropriate amount of time it takes to meet their individual needs.
What is an educational advocate?
An educational advocate's primary role is to ensure students receive the support and resources they need to succeed academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. In essence, an educational advocate serves as a guide, resource, and support system for families as they navigate the complexities of the education system, particularly for students with special needs.
